Spicy Twisted Nut Mix
Yield 4 cups
2 cups Longo’s Natural Pecan Halves
1 tbsp Longo’s Country Churned Salted Butter
1/4 cup dark brown sugar (not packed)
1/2 tsp Longo’s Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Longo’s Cayenne Powder (or chipotle powder)
2 tbsp Longo’s 100% Pure Maple Syrup
2 cups mini pretzel twists (regular or gluten-free)
- •Place nuts on a rimmed parchment-paper-lined baking sheet and bake in preheated 350°F oven for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- •Microwave butter in medium microwave-safe bowl for about 15 seconds or until melted. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne and maple syrup.
- •Stir warm pecan halves into the butter mixture, tossing to coat well. Add pretzels, tossing to coat completely.
- •Spread the mixture on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring a couple of times. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, store in an airtight container.
