Below are just a few of the amazing women at Longo’s.

Clarita, Bakery Clerk

As a woman, I believe that International Women's Day honours women’s achievements and rights as well as to raise awareness about gender inequality and increase their support everywhere. This day is significant because issues such as discrimination still exits which is why we want people to get involved in creating change.

Cheryl, Director of Operations

A woman in my life that has truly inspired me is my closest friend, Jane. She successfully battled breast cancer with a strength and determination I had never seen before and fought like an absolute warrior. Jane inspires me to take on life’s challenges with strength, humility and resilience… but most importantly, to keep laughing and loving.

KC, VP of Marketing

To me, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to pause and celebrate the amazing people who showcase leadership, support, balance and encouragement, so that all women can reach their highest potential in everything they do. The people that inspire me most are those who genuinely care enough to foster confidence in women at all stages of life and career, so that we get better and stronger together.

International Women's Day Facts

International Women’s Day began in 1911 and was officially recognized by the UN in 1977, marking March 8 as a global celebration of women’s achievements. The yellow mimosa, adopted in Italy after World War II, symbolizes resilience, hope, and solidarity. Today, the day unites communities worldwide in supporting gender equality and uplifting women’s voices.
