Ingredients

125g Gruyère cheese, shredded125g Vieux Suisse cheese, shredded1 tbsp cornstarch3/4 cup white wine1 small clove garlic1 Longo’s Handcrafted Rustic Baguette, sliced1 large pear, cored and sliced1 large apple, cored and sliced

Directions

Toss both cheeses with cornstarch to coat evenly.

Heat wine and garlic in heavy-bottom saucepan over medium-low heat until bubbles appear around edge. Remove garlic clove. Whisk in cheese mixture, about 1/2 cup at a time, adding more as cheese melts.

Once smooth, pour cheese into fondue pot and set over fondue burner to keep warm, stirring as necessary and adjusting heat as necessary. Dip baguette, pear and apple slices into the fondue to enjoy.

Tip: Remove rind from cheeses and shred each to get about 1 1/4 cups of the Gruyère and 1 1/3 cups of the Vieux Suisse. Recipe easy doubles for a larger group.
