Directions
Gently stir berries with sugar and liqueur; set aside for 15 minutes to macerate, stirring occasionally.
Whip cream with icing sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Arrange half of the panettone cubes in a 12-cup trifle or large, straight-sided glass bowl. Dollop 1 can of custard over cubes. Spoon over half of the berries, being sure to drizzle with any juices. Top with half of the whipped cream, spreading evenly to the edges of the bowl. Sprinkle with half of the pistachios, if using. Repeat layers once.
Garnish the top of the trifle with additional fresh berries and remaining half of the pistachios, if using.
Tip: Replace some of the berries with chopped, drained canned peaches or chopped fresh apricots.
