SPICY SAUSAGE AND BEAN SLOPPY JOES

Ingredients

2 Longo’s Hot Italian Pork Sausages, casings removed1 can (540mL) Longo’s Essentials Bean Medley, drained and rinsed2 cups Longo’s Arrabiata Pasta Sauce1 pkg (315g) Longo’s Caesar Salad2 Longo’s Bakery Cheese Buns, halved

Directions

Heat 1 tbsp Longo’s Essentials 100% Canola Oil in large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add sausages and cook, breaking up with spoon, for about 5 minutes or until browned. Stir in beans and add pasta sauce; stir to combine. Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes or until thickened.

Meanwhile, toss Caesar salad ingredients together.

Place half a bun on each plate and spoon sloppy joe mixture overtop. Serve with salad.

Vegetarian variation: Substitute plant-based sausages for the pork sausages.
