Ingredients

3 large Spanish onions (about 1.5kg) 

2 tbsp each Longo's Essentials Country Churned Salted Butter and Longo's Essentials 100% Pure Canola Oil 

1 tsp each salt and granulated sugar 

3 tbsp Longo's Essentials All-Purpose Flour

1 cup dry red wine

4 sprigs fresh Longo's Organic Thyme 

2 sprigs fresh parsley 

2 Longo's Essentials Bay Leaves 

2 cartons (956mL each) Longo's Essentials Beef Broth 

Salt and pepper to taste 

12 to 16 slices Longo's Artisan Baguette 

1 1/2 cups shredded 5 Brothers or Stonetown Wildwood Cheese 

1 cup shredded Longo's Mozzarella Cheese Ball

Chopped fresh Longo's Organic Chives (optional) 

Directions

This restaurant favourite can easily be made at home and enjoyed with family and friends using simple ingredients. Having some extra baguette and cheese around is always a hit to make sure every drop of broth is sopped up! 

A Dash of Advice

Substitute Gruyère, Jarlsberg, Swiss or raclette cheese for the cheeses, if desired.
